Sports & Live Events · Sandstorm Run
BCaster turned Sandstorm Run participants into official content creators — collecting hundreds of authentic photos and videos and displaying the best moments live on a giant screen in the heart of the event.
Powered by BCaster in 2025 and 2026

The Challenge
Every live event is filled with moments that professional photographers can never capture alone. Thousands of participants experience the event from thousands of different perspectives — but most of those moments remain on personal phones.
Sandstorm Run was designed to be more than a race. Inspired by Darude's iconic Sandstorm, it was a shared experience built around fans, music, running and the energy of Helsinki.
The goal was to make the participants visible — not just as an audience watching the event, but as an active part of its story.
The Solution
BCaster gave every participant a direct channel into the official Sandstorm Run experience. Photos and videos could be submitted directly from a phone, reviewed in real time and activated during the event.
Following the success of the 2025 event, BCaster was used again for Sandstorm Run in 2026 — turning audience participation into a repeatable part of the event experience.
Participants could contribute directly through a simple mobile web experience instead of downloading an application or creating a new account.
Instead of scattering content across social networks and hashtags, BCaster created a direct connection between participants and the event.
Incoming photos could be reviewed and selected while the event was still happening.
Selected contributions were displayed on the giant event screen, immediately rewarding participation and encouraging more people to contribute.
The Live Activation Loop
01
A runner or spectator captures their own Sandstorm Run moment.
02
The photo or video is submitted directly into the event's BCaster workflow.
03
The event team reviews incoming content and selects the best moments.
04
Selected photos appear live on the giant screen, making fans visible inside the official event program.
The Results
1,000+
Runners and fans became part of the event's official visual content network.
400+
Hundreds of authentic participant photos were collected directly during the event.
< 2h
More than 400 photos and dozens of videos were submitted in less than two hours.
Live
Selected fan photos were displayed in real time on the event's giant screen in Kaivopuisto.
The Fan Perspective
The result was not another polished marketing library. It was something more valuable: hundreds of real perspectives from inside the experience.
Joy, sweat, costumes, friendships, exhaustion and euphoria were captured by the people actually experiencing the event.
That authenticity gives organizers, brands and sponsors a living story around the event — created by the community itself.
“BCaster brought the perfect addition to the event and worked seamlessly with our concept. There was real magic at the event, and BCaster helped us capture it.
Why It Matters
When people can participate in an event and immediately see themselves become part of it, the relationship changes.
Fans are no longer simply consuming an experience. They are helping create it.
The result is not only more content. It is stronger engagement, greater loyalty and an authentic brand story built together with the community.
