BCaster and the University of North Texas co-hosted a fan engagement panel at the Sports Innovation Space in Frisco, Texas, on 12 November 2025.
The session, titled Unlocking the Power of UGC, explored how sports organizations, entertainment businesses and educational institutions can turn their audiences from passive spectators into active participants and brand ambassadors.
Perspectives from across the sports ecosystem
The panel brought together perspectives from technology, professional sports, university athletics and regional sports development:
- Janne Neuvonen — Founder and CEO, BCaster
- Remle Herzberg — Texas Rangers
- Peyton Klauber — University of North Texas Athletics
- Alex Gilbert — Dallas Sports Commission
Neuvonen contributed BCaster’s technology perspective on authentic fan-created content and how organizations can turn audience participation into rights-managed, searchable and reusable visual data.
The conversation focused on the future of fan engagement and the role that photos, videos and direct audience participation can play before, during and after an event.
Fan content can extend the reach of an experience, provide valuable material for communications and sponsors, and help organizations understand how their communities engage. Capturing that value consistently, however, requires more than asking people to publish on social media.
From isolated posts to an owned visual dataset
BCaster enables organizations to establish a direct data relationship with their audiences. Participants can submit content through a link or QR code, while the organization collects the required rights, consent and available context as part of the same process.
AI can then analyze and organize the material, making every known or AI-derived detail searchable. The result is not only a collection of fan photos and videos, but a rights-managed and reusable first-party visual dataset.
This approach makes authentic fan content easier to activate across venue screens, broadcasts, websites, applications, sponsor campaigns and social media while reducing manual transfers, tagging and permission management.
Building BCaster’s position in the United States
The panel followed BCaster’s invitation to join the UNT Sports Innovation Space and represented an early opportunity to contribute directly to the North Texas sports business community.
Located at The Star in Frisco, the Sports Innovation Space supports international sports technology companies entering the United States market through industry connections, events, workspace and collaboration with UNT.
For BCaster, the event connected the company’s technology with a central question facing sports organizations: how to build deeper fan relationships while creating content and data that the organization can responsibly use over time.
