BCaster has appointed Simo Haatainen as Chief Technology Officer as the company strengthens its technology leadership and develops its platform from proven customer deployments toward scalable enterprise infrastructure.
Haatainen brings more than a decade of software development experience to BCaster. His background spans cloud platforms, TypeScript, user-interface design, project management and senior software development roles across technology and industry-specific software companies.
Experience across complex software environments
Before joining BCaster’s leadership team, Haatainen worked as a Senior Software Developer at Medscion Pharma Solutions. He previously spent five years as a Senior Software Developer at GISGRO and held software development roles at Qvantel, NeVia and Ratas Software.
His experience combines hands-on software development with cloud technologies, interface design and project responsibility. This background supports BCaster’s need to connect multiple real-world visual sources, AI capabilities and customer systems through one reliable data layer.
Leading BCaster’s technical development
As CTO, Haatainen will lead BCaster’s technology strategy, platform architecture and the continued development of its AI-powered visual data infrastructure. His responsibilities include scalability, enterprise integrations, deployment flexibility and the technical foundations required for rights-managed and searchable visual data.
Haatainen is joining BCaster through a phased transition. He will initially divide his time between BCaster and his current software development role, with a planned transition into a full-time CTO role as BCaster enters its next funded growth phase.

The appointment supports BCaster’s transition from individual visual content workflows toward a repeatable infrastructure layer that can serve customers across media, sports, live events, public safety, venues and enterprise environments.
